Adding Glass Windows

In the Hut Tutorial we made a basic hut with a Window and Door
This time we will add glass to the window, so grab a copy of the file from the bottom of the Hut Tut to use as a guide.

Open you Hut Model in 3DSMax, add a Plane making it 1.5m x 1.5m

Rotate and Move it to cover the Window

Make a solid color .tga file as 50px x 50px, call it glass.tga and attach it to the Plane

Change the name of the plane01 to 01glass, save and export as ase.

This time we will do it for Joint Ops.
Open the SuperOED, import your 01hut.ase
Go to Edit >Materials
Select the Material you used as glass

Change the Shader at the Top to >Boring single texture additive
Parameters, tick 2 sides
Collision change Surface Type to >Glass
Click OK
Then Export to 3di.
So we now have a 01hut.3di, glass.tga, 01hut.tga (hut skin)

Glass Option 2

We do the same as above except this time we change the Shader to >Flat Glass
Click on the Grey Box RGB, this will open a color window you can use to choose your color.

The difference between the two is this way it doesn't matter what color texture you use.

Same as before Save and Export.

Setting Up for Joint Ops

Lets say your using the Steam Copy of JO.
It doesn't have a Med with it so install the DFX Med for JO
Once installed it will give you 2 icons, 1 for JO and 1 for JO:Esc
Delete 1 of them and right click the other one, go to Properties
Change the Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Joint Operations Combined Arms\dfxmed.exe" /exp DF-MODS

That is the Med sorted, now go to your game directory and make a new icon on your desktop
Right click icon, Properties. This time we will add [space]/exp DF-MODS to the end of the Target line so it looks like below.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Joint Operations Combined Arms\Jointops.exe" /exp DF-MODS
That is Both icons sorted, lets move to the next part.

ITems.def
We have to add the new information into the items file.
Using the Pff extract the ITEMS.DEF file from the localres.pff, decrypt it and add the following code

begin "My Hut"
id 100702
type building
graphic Hut01
end

Save and Encrypt it.
So now we should have these files
Hut01.3di
glass.tga
01hut.tga
ITEMS.DEF

Packit all in
Copy them into the Pack folder and click install
Open your game directory, open a folder called expansion and Create and new folder called DF-MODS. Paste the DF-MODS.pff we just created into the folder.
Go to your JO Med and look for your new items, add it to a map and have a look
First Pic is the first way i showed

Notice when you shoot the glass it show bullet holes,

As you can see they are quite transparent, not the best pic to show off but you get the idea...
The next image is the second way with the yellow color we picked out
