DFLW modding
Quote from Deleted user on July 17, 2024, 5:33 pmHello guys, im very new here and i have no experience with modding..
but i would like to understand how to import files for example from df2 into land warrior pff, or import terrians vehicles and objects from comanche 4 to lw.
im really interested in improving the game by building interesting single player levels in new inviroments like city levels, air base assault, attack on convoys maybe some interesting features like having weapons attached to hammers you could mount on.

There is a bit to cover to do what you want, i can give you a hand through most of it...
Ok, first off get the PFF7 Editor and point to it your DFLW Directory looking for the .pff files
You will have a Dflw.pff and a Terrain.pff in these are all the game files, sounds, 3di's....I think C4 is compatible with DFLW as in 3di's, i think you can just import them, got me thinking now, might have to have a look.
You will need the items.def file. This holds all the info for your items, if you add a new item you need to add a new bit of code to it.
So useful tools you might want to get...
Pff7 Editor
https://df-mods.net/?wpdmpro=fwopff73D Texture Finder
https://df-mods.net/?wpdmpro=3di-texture-finder
This will find the materials for your 3d models from in game.PackIt
https://df-mods.net/?wpdmpro=packit
This is used to pack the files back into the pffDecompression tools

There are some tools you might need in it.

i will give it a try and find out if i can really do some stuff, i really trying to do this out of curiosity, if i can really make something out of it..
tho if i can put some stuff together and get buildings/objects/vehicles or even new characters working i will share it online
btw, the link for the 3d texture viewer or generator is not working for some odd reason
